_____In the middle of 18-th century, Madame de Mailly, Louis XV's current mistress, was notorious for her decoration abilities as well as her services to the crown! The above designs are inspired from her bedroom, also known as The Blue Room. In the dark color background version, the artists used the French technique Sang-de-boeuf.  The centuries - old tradition of gilding was used for the gold background version.
